Request Session Information

It’s the most important day of your baby’s life. Remember it forever!

Im sure more people click on this out of pure interest, but I hope that after reading a little bit, you will fall in love with the idea. So why hire me as your birth photographer? By having me at your child’s birth, it will allow your husband or other friends and family members to spend their time supporting you during this momentous occasion. They will be able to enjoy the experience and participate more if they are not watching it unfold from behind the viewfinder on your camera.

Investment:

Typically I arrive during active labor and stay for about three hours afterwards, so on average my time spent with you can be anywhere from 6-8 hours. You will receive all the digital negatives on DVD in both high and low resolution with limited copyright release, a highlights dvd and 5×7 proofs in a custom box.  There is a retainer of $300 and this will be applied to the entire session fee which is $1130.

We do not do posed newborn photos at this time, please check out our newborn sessions and baby series for information on our newborn & baby photography.  During your birth session it’s my goal to be as unobtrusive as possible ensuring I capture those moments that you will cherish forever.

When to schedule?

Due to the nature of this photography and that it’s completely unpredictable I can only schedule one session a month.  This way it’s a lot less likely for birth sessions to overlap ensuring no scheduling conflicts.  I highly recommend booking us as soon as you decide that this is for you and after your first ultrasound when the doctors can give you a due date.

A little bit personal:

Now that I look back on my own birth of Izabel, as traumatic as it was, I wish I had taken up my dear friend Derek’s (Love and Life Photography) offer of photographing her birth. That way I would have photos of my husband and I as she came into the world; and not just the very amateur (sorry honey) photos he got. Most importantly, instead of my husband taking photos the whole time, he could of enjoyed the experience.
