The Photographer In Me

The photographer in me is a series of classes designed to help anyone with a camera to take better photos.  These classes are not to teach you how to be a professional photographer or run a photography business but to help you gain the skills necessary to always take the best photos possible.  You do not have to have a fancy SLR camera a simple point and shoot works just fine.

These classes are generally two hours long and cost $45.00 a class.  The location of the classes will be held in the studio and around Chesterfield Mall.  We cap at 15 people per class.  To register please pick a class and click the register now button which will then allow you to pick a class date and time that works best for you.

If you are here for the groupon, living social or dealfind coupon for photography classes please select your class and use the coupon code 2for1 at checkout.  Upon registration you will gather your deal code to verify you did purchase a deal.   You may also use your deal to upgrade to a more advanced classes {Click Here}.

Class #1 – Basic-Basics

The Basic-Basics class is ideal for those of you new to the digital world and/or you have no idea even how to power up this darn contraption.   This is as basic as it can get!  We do ask though for you to at least have your camera battery charged.  If you don’t know how please stop by the studio at least a day BEFORE your class so we can show you how.  Length 2 hrs.

Some things we will cover

  • Setting up your camera – putting the “digital film” in, powering up and setting the basic settings – such as time, date .. etc.
  • Reviewing your camera’s basic settings – like for example why there are low light settings and night settings and what is the difference.
  • How to use your digital film – getting prints from it, how to delete images from it and getting the pictures on your computer.
  • We even go over getting your images onto facebook or other sharing sites to show your new photography skills with your family and friends.
  • We will end the class with questions and for those of you have a laptop I will help you install your camera software.  We will also help you decide on the next class you should sign up for.  Also, you get an assignment for future classes.

Class #2 – Welcome to the Photography World

So you understand the Basic-Basics or at least 90% of it.  This class we will cover tips, techniques, thoughts, ideas and inspiration.  Perfect for either point and shoot cameras and SLR. Length 2 hrs.

  • We will end the class with questions and if you are taking another class we will give you an assignment to work on for the next class.

Class #3 – Finding the Light

Okay so now you get the basics of your camera and how to use it!  Now you look around but don’t quite get how to see the light and get what you see in camera!  Nor do quite get or struggle on how you get the light you see to be captured on your subject!  This class can be done with either a point and shoot and SLR.  Length 2 hrs.

Okay so you are getting everything so far, but you want to push yourself a bit further.  It’s time to go manual!  Sorry P mode isn’t for professional!   It’s a step closer but not the real deal, your almost there!   Recommended for SLR cameras but your welcome to come with a point and shoot, I just can’t guarantee I will know how to set your camera – so bring your manual.  Length 2 hrs.
